Clause for pre purchase inspections:
The extent of the pre purchase inspection is limited to:
(a) The condition of the vehicle at the time of inspection. The condition of a vehicle can change due to normal wear and tear, driver abuse, neglect, collision damage or deterioration of internal components that are not able to be inspected under the pre purchase inspection; and
(b) Any documents such as the Vehicle manual, maintenance records, damage reports and repair records as far as they are available. The documents can come from external third parties and we do not review them. We are not liable for the accuracy or completeness of any information in these documents.
The Report will not tell you about:
(a) Hidden defects.
(b) Intermittent problems.
(c) Problems which become apparent after the pre purchase inspection.
(d) Problems which cannot be identified on a visual inspection or without parts of the vehicle being dismantled; or
(e) the registration, liens or finance secured over the vehicle, or ownership of the vehicle as at the time of the inspection.
*Some engines are designed with engine components covering serviceable items. This includes, but is not limited to, intake manifolds covering spark or glow plugs, sealed unit transmissions or differentials with no dip stick, and other components which require removal and/or recalibration once removed. We have used the term “where applicable and accessible” to define these designs. Spark and glow plugs are checked based on direct access. Compression readings are checked based off direct access. Hybrids and vehicles with inaccessible cylinders will have compression readings determined via a relativity test on a scan tool. Automotive Aspects will not check inaccessible components as part of our standard pre purchase check over, and extra charges may be incurred if you wish for us to check inaccessible components. We advise enquiring with Automotive Aspects if you are unsure about the requirements and costs associated with your vehicle.
Whilst Automotive Aspects always endeavors to carry out thorough inspections for all our customers, due to the variables mentioned above we claim no liability for visually unidentifiable faults that may be present with the vehicle, or faults that arise after the inspection.
